Reporting a bug?
These details help us fix it quickly:
- Your device (e.g. iPhone 16, iPad Air)
- iOS version — Settings › General › About
- myEval version — myEval › Settings › About
- Form type (EVAL, CHIEFEVAL or FITREP) and the steps that cause it
- A screenshot, if you can
Please don’t send real SSNs or personal details in emails or screenshots — blur or cover them first.
Getting started
Which forms does myEval support?
myEval writes the Navy’s enlisted EVAL (E-1 to E-6), the CHIEFEVAL (E-7 to E-9) and the officer FITREP, following BUPERSINST 1610.10H CH-2 and the checks in NAVFIT98A v33.
Do I need an internet connection or an account?
No. myEval works completely offline and has no sign-in. Your reports are stored only on your device.
How do summary groups work?
A summary group is for Sailors with the same paygrade, reporting senior and end date who are ranked together. Go to Groups › New summary group and add the evals that belong to it.
Shared details — duty status, UIC, ship/station, dates, the reporting senior blocks and command employment — are entered once and kept in sync on every member’s report. Quotas and averages are worked out from the group.
What is the PSG RSCA line, and why is it required?
BUPERSINST 1610.10H requires the post summary group (PSG) reporting senior cumulative average on the last line of block 43 for E-5 and E-6 EVALs, written like PSG RSCA: 4.68. If it’s missing, the Sailor’s RSCA PMA can count as 0.00 for advancement.
myEval keeps that last line free for you. Type the value yourself, or set up the RSCA tracker (Settings › RSCA tracker) with the trait sum and count from your BOL report and myEval works it out for every report.
Where can I read the instruction?
Open the Learn tab. The full BUPERSINST 1610.10H CH-2 text is built in and searchable offline. In any step, tap a block tag (for example “Block 43”) to jump to its guidance.
Printing & sharing
How do I print a report?
Open the report and go to the Review step. When nothing is blocking it, choose Print to send it to an AirPrint printer or save it as a PDF. Comments are measured the way they will print, so what fits in myEval fits on the form.
How do I send a report to my rater or senior rater?
- On the Evals tab, tap the report’s menu (•••) and choose Encrypt & send — or send a whole group from the group screen.
- Set a password, or use the one myEval suggests.
- Send the file by email, Messages or AirDrop, and give the password to the recipient a different way (for example, by phone).
The recipient taps the attachment and chooses Open in myEval, or uses Import on the Evals tab. SSNs are left out unless you turn on “Include saved SSNs”. Always follow your command’s policy for sending personal information.
How do I bring a report into NAVFIT98A?
- In myEval, choose Export for NAVFIT98A from a report’s or group’s menu, and share the zipped file to your computer.
- Unzip it. In NAVFIT98A v33.2, select a folder and choose File › Import Data, then pick the exported file.
For your protection the NAVFIT file never contains SSNs — add them in NAVFIT98A after importing.
Privacy & security
Where are my reports stored? Can you see them?
Only on your device, encrypted. myEval has no servers and collects no data, so we can’t see, recover or restore your reports. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Why does saving an SSN require App Lock?
SSNs are optional. If you choose to save one, App Lock (Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode) must be on so no one else can open the app and see it. Saved SSNs stay masked, and showing one asks you to confirm it’s you. App Lock stays required until every saved SSN is removed.
What happens if I delete the app or get a new phone?
Your reports live only on the device, so deleting myEval deletes them. Before you delete the app or switch devices, print the reports you need or use Encrypt & send to move them, then import them on the new device.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings › Delete all drafts in myEval. This removes your reports, saved SSNs and RSCA tracker numbers from the device. Deleting the app also removes its data.
Is myEval an official Navy app?
No. myEval is an independent app made by VTAN LLC. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Navy or the Department of Defense. It follows the published instruction, but you are responsible for checking each report against the current instruction and your command’s guidance before signing.
Purchases & refunds
How do I request a refund?
App Store purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find myEval and choose Request a refund.
